Snowflake asks Dany to play with her. Dany is contemplating the request as she is now almost 18 years old and not much into playing anymore.

Schneeflocke fordert Dany zum spielen auf. Dany denkt darüber erst mal gründlich nach, denn sie ist bald 18 Jahre alt und spielt nicht mehr so gerne.

Zoo Tiger

This Siberian tiger in the Munich Zoo has been pacing forth and back for quite some time. I felt sorry for him as it looked like hospitalism.

Dieser sibirische Tiger im Münchner Zoo Hellabrunn schritt über einen langen Zeitraum ständig hin und zurück. Es sah aus wie Hospitalismus und er hat mir sehr leid getan.

Kiara climbs the sofa

Today Kiara wanted to help me in the cellar. Instead of helping with anything, she climbed the old sofa which is stored upright for space keeping purposes. After declining my helping hands and not willing to jump down, she found her own very innovative way which I haven’t ever seen before.

Heute wollte Kiara im Keller aushelfen. Anstatt jedoch zu helfen, kletterte sie auf das alte Sofa, welches aus Platzgründen hochkant aufbewahrt wird. Nachdem sie meine helfenden Hände nicht in Anspruch nehmen wollte und ihr die Höhe für einen Sprung herunter nicht behagte, fand sie ihren eigenen, sehr innovativen Weg nach unten, wie ich es vorher noch nie gesehen habe.

Recently in the deep grass Kiara was waiting for some fun. As Dany strolled over Kiara first ducked and then jumped over her, fulfilling a beautiful circus-like somersault.

Kürzlich wartete Kiara tief im hohen Gras versteckt, auf das etwas Interessantes geschehen möge. Als Dany vorbeikam, duckte sich Kiara zuerst und sprang dann mit einem zirkusreifen Salto über sie und beendete das Ganze mit einem Purzelbaum.

Kiara had great time in the garden playing within a big heap of last year leaves.

The moral of the story: Don’t just jump or sit on a pile of leaves, there could be living beings inside.

Kiara hatte einen riesigen Spaß beim spielen in einem großen Haufen trockener Blätter vom letzten Jahr.

Die Moral der Geschichte: Man sollte sich nicht einfach auf einen Blätterhaufen setzen, oder hineinspringen, es könnten sich lebendige Wesen darin befinden.

Caturday joke

My Dany reminds me of the wonderful cat joke as follows.

One day a cat dies of natural causes and goes to heaven. Greeting him, the Lord says, “You’ve lived a good life. If there is any way I can make your stay in heaven more comfortable, please let me know.” The cat thinks for a minute and says “Well, all my life I lived with a poor family and had to sleep on a hard wooden floor….” The Lord stops the cat and says “Say no more!” Just then a wonderful fluffy pillow appears and the cat contentedly wanders off to find a good place to nap.

A few days later, six mice killed in a tragic farming accident go to heaven. The Lord is there to greet them with the same offer. The mice answer: “All our lives we’ve been chased. We’ve had to run from cats, from tractors, even from that farmer’s wife with her broom. We’re tired of running….” “Say no more!” the Lord replies. In a flash, each mouse is fitted with a beautiful new pair of roller skates, and they skate happily off to explore the heavenly landscape.

About a week later, the Lord stops by to see the cat and finds him snoozing away. He gently wakes the cat and asks, “How are things since you got here?” The cat stretches, yawns, and replies “Oh, it is wonderful here. I get a lot of great sleep on this pillow, and those Meals on Wheels you’ve been sending are the BEST!”

Kiara wants out – Kiara will raus

Kiara is quite talkative and pretty determined. Here she shows very clearly that her only desire for the present moment is to get out.

Kiara ist eine kleine Quasselstrippe und besitzt eine sehr bestimmende Persönlichkeit. Hier zeigt sie sehr deutlich, daß ihr augenblicklicher Wunsch ist, nur rauszukommen.

The flying cat – Die schwebende Katze

One of these days I bumped my head into something upon opening the front door. Looking up I saw some non-identifiable animal with white wings. Actually I took it for a squirrel based on its facial expression.

My neighbour who is one of the decorating kind – and who put it there to please me – explained that it is supposed to be a cat, well with wings.

Since it’s a good characterization of my household it will be flying there forever.

Kürzlich stieß ich meinen Kopf an, als ich die Haustür öffnete. Aufschauend, sah ich ein nicht genau zu identifizierendes Tier mit weißen Flügeln. Basierend auf dessen Gesichtsausdruck hielt ich es für ein Eichhörnchen.

Mein Nachbar, der zu der dekorierenden Zunft gehört – und der es dort hingetan hat um mich zu erfreuen – erklärte jedoch, daß es sich um eine Katze mit Flügeln handeln soll.

Da es meinen Hauhalt sehr gut charakterisiert, wird es nun für immer dort schweben.

They really think that you should have 2 of these nicely fitting places so they don’t have to share.

Die Katzen meinen echt, dass der Mensch 2 von diesen perfekten Plätzchen haben sollte, damit sie nicht teilen müssen.

Kiara in the snow – Kiara im Schnee

Last night it started snowing. Unlike my other cats Kiara fully enjoys tunnelling through snow.
